Who Is Barbara Hill?

Barbara Hill has lived in Kingston on Lucas Avenue for 5 years and loves living next to Forsyth Park. Before that, she lived in the Town of Esopus in Ulster County for 23 years. She is a member of The Friends of Forsyth Nature Center.

  • Barbara has worked with many non-profit organizations in the County and Kingston, making sure to listen to all viewpoints in order arrive at positive solutions to our community's challenges.

  • Barbara has deep experience in the behavioral, health, housing, and social services in Ulster County both as an administrator and as a Family Caregiver for her brother who is a person with schizophrenia.

  • As a Family Caregiver for her brother who is a person with schizophrenia, she is acutely aware of the gaps in services that exist for families struggling to provide care for their loved ones.

  • She has served on the Ulster County Community Services Board (mental health services in the County) and has worked for the Ulster County Department of Social Services creating youth prevention initiatives in Kingston, Woodstock, New Paltz, and Ellenville.

  • She is currently working on a project for Family Services, Inc. to set up an integrated health, mental health, and substance use clinic in the area. Most recently she was the Senior Director of Innovation for CBHS Independent Practice Association, which consists of 30 behavioral health partners, mostly non-profits, in the Hudson Valley.

  • Barbara's career has been spent serving in the field of health and behavioral health care administration, organizing, strategy, performance improvement, and policy.

  • She has a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU and a Master’s of Social Work from the Hunter School of Social Work. She holds an LCSW-R social work license. Barbara is an excellent grant writer and community builder/organizer.

  • Barbara loves the outdoors and explores the beautiful Hudson Valley that we live in as often as possible.
